Originally from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, I moved to Yukon in 2006 to take up a position as English instructor at Yukon University (then Yukon College). Between 2010 and 2013, I served as chair of the School of Liberal Arts and in 2014 became dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts (then the Applied Arts Division).

I hold degrees from Dalhousie University (PhD, English), University of Leeds (MA, English), and Mount Allison University (BA, English) and have taught English literature and composition at Dalhousie University, the Nova Scotia Agricultural College, NSCAD University, and Yukon University.

I live in Whitehorse with my children Hugh, Harriet and Wilfred, an Airedale terrier, and two standard poodles. Outside of education, my interests include drumming, running, skiing, and gardening.
