Avery James Zammit, M.A. (he/him), is the Project Officer for Climate Change Research at the YukonU Research Centre in Whitehorse, Yukon. He previously served in the same role for the Northern Mine Remediation research chair. Avery holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from York University and a Master of Arts in Political Science, Sociology, and History from the University of Siegen in Germany. His graduate and undergraduate studies also included semesters at the University of Helsinki in Finland and the University of Bologna in Italy.

In his role as Project Officer, Avery supports climate and northern research initiatives by coordinating project operations, managing fieldwork logistics, facilitating meetings and collaborative research activities, and preparing reports and knowledge-sharing materials for research partners, funders, and community stakeholders. Alongside this coordination work, Avery conducts research on climate change adaptation, resilience-building, and climate policy across northern and sub-Arctic contexts.
