Lacia Kinnear is the Director of Governance and Strategic Initiatives at Yukon College. Fueled by her interest in effective organizational decision-making and flow, Lacia’s current position puts her at the helm of all matters and processes related to institutional governance and planning. Lacia plays a central role in supporting the legislative development of the Yukon University Act and is responsible for leading an integrated portfolio of strategic files, including: integrated planning to ensure cross-institutional alignment of priorities; leadership and oversight for strategic policy development and implementation; development and implementation of governance processes; and providing and presenting strategic decision-making tools to ensure institutional targets are tracked and achieved.
Lacia is passionate about building capacity to support a healthy and prosperous north, and helping organizations realize their vision and aspirations.
Lacia has worked at Yukon College since 2009, where she managed the Climate Change research group before moving into her current position in 2015. Lacia graduated with a BA in Geography from the University of Guelph 2001. She completed her Masters degree in 2007 from the School for Resource and Environmental Studies, Dalhousie University.
